It includes the fundamental science of cleaning by introducing and understanding of the pH scale and the Sinner’s Circle. Operations have evolved from the original zone cleaning concept to the huge benefits of Team Cleaning in certain applications. Finally, learners are exposed to important concepts like color-coded cleaning to avoid cross-contamination.

What you'll learn
- Apply Core Cleaning Principles: Execute systematic tasks such as cleaning from top-to-bottom, back-to-front and dry-to-wet.
- Prevent Cross-Contamination: Maintain visual and microbiological cleaning standards using colour-coded cloths to prevent cross-contamination.
- Operate Specialized Machinery: Correctly select, prepare and handle single-disc floor machines for functions like scrubbing, stripping and polishing.
- Understand Chemical Dilution & Selection: Use acidic chemicals to remove alkaline dirt (limescale) and alkaline chemicals to remove acidic dirt (oils/fats) while understanding the importance of diluting the chemicals correctly.
- Safety Data Sheets (SDS): Understand the use and importance of quick accessibility to SDS’s.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Correctly select and understand the donning & doffing PPE - including masks, rubber-soled shoes, uniforms and gloves - as dictated by Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Master Commercial Floor Care: Categorize hard, resilient, and textile floor surfaces and correctly execute floor care procedures.
- Clean Above-the-Floor Surfaces: Correctly execute the three-level, anti-clockwise assessment method (high, medium and floor level). Effectively lean specialized features like lifts, high-touch points and polished finishes without causing surface damage.
